St Mary’s on the Hill, Harrington
We call our church St Mary’s on the Hill, to differentiate us from the Roman Catholic St Mary’s church, which is down in Church Road, Harrington, on the way to the harbour. You can imagine the confusion this causes to visitors. Our communion services follow Common Worship, and we sing hymns and worship songs accompanied by our organ. Communion services are livestreamed, but not services involving children.
First Sunday of the month – 10.30 am Holy communion
Second Sunday of the month – 10.30 am Morning Worship – see below
4 pm Healing Communion in church
Third Sunday of the month – 10.30 am Holy Communion in church
Fourth Sunday of the month – 10.30 am Holy Communion in church
Fifth Sunday of the month – 10.30 am Holy Communion in church
Mid-week communion – Every Thursday at 9.30 am (Except Maundy Thursday and the
Thursday after Christmas)
Our Morning Worship services are either Parade Services in church, with the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers connected to St Mary’s, or they are cafe services in the Church Hall with a more informal worship and songs accompanied on a keyboard.
Parade services are usually held on Mothering Sunday in March, around Pentecost in May or June, Summer Celebration in July, Harvest festival in October, Remembrance Sunday in November and an awards service in December. See our Diary page for more details.
